About Christmas in the Park
Christmas in the Park is the largest drive-through Christmas light display in southern West Virginia. Since its founding in 1994 by Tom "Rose" Tomblin, this beloved event has brought holiday cheer to local families and visitors with dazzling lights and creative displays throughout thepark. Organized by a nonprofit 501(c) corporation, the event is run entirely by volunteersfrom civic organizations, church groups, school groups, and local businesses.
What to Expect
Drive-Through Light Displays: Enjoy over a million sparkling lights and festivenscenes as you drive through the park, each display bringing the magic of Christmas to life.
Santaland: Stop by Santaland for a chance to meet Santa Claus, take photos, and share your Christmas wishes.
Hayrides: Experience the lights from a different perspective with a cozy hayride through the illuminated park.
Annual Ornament: Each year features a special ornament available for visitors to commemorate their experience.
Coco Hut & Gift Shop: Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa from the Coco Hut and browse unique holiday gifts and souvenirs in the gift shop.
Community and Volunteer Spirit
Christmas in the Park is made possible through the dedication of volunteers from a wide range of groups, including civic organizations, churches, schools, and local businesses. Their hard work and community spirit ensure that the event remains a highlight of the holiday season for everyone in southern West Virginia.
Admission and Donations
The event is free and open to the public. Donations are gratefully accepted to help support the ongoing tradition and maintain the beautiful displays for years to come.
Coco Hut open until 9pm daily for $2 per cup.
Gift Shop open until 9pm until Christmas located in parking lot across from the museum.
Chief Logan Park also has a gift shop located in the museum.
Hayrides $5 per person Wed. through Saturday in the parking lot at the gift shop. Groups can schedule a reservation. 304-687-4076
Santaland open Monday through Saturday $5 donation take your own pictures. Starts Dec. 1 st through Dec. 23 rd. closed Sundays.
